In an increasingly digitalized world there is a need for more real life social interaction
Increasingly we live our lives through screens, work more from home, and have less real life human interaction. Social sailing is the counterbalance to this, because research shows the key to happiness (and better team performance) is our social relations.
Social Sailing - build a stronger team
The purpose of a team-event is to strengthen bonds between people. Let us help you do that while exploring the beautiful harbor.
Building bonds between people
Social sailing is about building bonds between people by breaking down barriers. We might ask you something unexpected or involve you in steering the boat. This is simple our way of achieving social sailing.
Build Client Relationships with Social Sailing
Successful client relationships are based on a personal connection. Let a Hey Captain social sailing tour be part of facilitating this.
Collaborating with Chicago Booth University
On our tours we run experiments with our guests. This will be in the form of asking specific questions or involving you in parts of the tour. We do it together with Chicago Booth University to become better and try to achieve social sailing every time (which is not easy because people are busy).
The Hey Captain way of Social Sailing
Research shows that deeper conversation is generally more fulfilling and creates stronger ties than shallow conversation. This is part of the way we create social sailing.

Try our “Hidden gems”
Hidden gems is about showing our own favorite spots, which are off the beaten track from the standard path. Expect to get an introduction to areas we think are cool, local, and where you get a great a sense of what the life in Copenhagen is all about. We will either take a southern route or Northern route depending on what is going on in the harbor at your specific departure day. There will be a voluntarily option during the route to stop and get out of the boat to explore.
The harbor in Copenhagen is undergoing rapid change, from an industrial harbor to recreational space open to everyone living in the city. During the summer months it acts as the main nerve binding the city together and attracting numerous water-based activities in the process. You will see how this is folds out with Kayaks passing by and happy Danes jumping into the water. We will point out our favorite places and hidden gems, whether you are looking a place for having an afternoon beer in the sun, a relaxed morning coffee, or simply and area to relax away from it all.
As we explore the upcoming areas away from the inner part of the city you will see how former industrial buildings are being transformed into new spaces, where new and old are mixed in new architectural structures. Some of these are designed by famous architects like Bjarke Ingels and some by new upcoming talents. You will get an understanding of how design and living play and essential role for the new development of Copenhagen and an essential part of the Danish lifestyle.

Hey Captain is a canal tour in Copenhagen founded by Casper and Joel, who sailed friends around in their own boat Diana. The original feeling was based on being personal, social and informative, which remain the anchor point for the boat tours we do at Hey Captain.
Expect to experience a homelike atmosphere where you can sit back and relax as we take you through our favorite canals in Copenhagen. In a relaxed pace you will get a sense of the city more than an overload of historical figures.
